Why we need newspapers

19 Dec Why we need newspapers

The moment I saw this post, I know that I had to share it.

Great cartoons make people think. Sometimes they make people angry too. Chris Britt is a pretty terrific cartoonist. I admire his work.

As I wrote earlier this week, kids who can read can rise above fear and poverty.

We believe every local media outlet has an obligation to help the kids, teachers and parents who live in their communities learn.

Yes, this is a self-serving statement because we represent Kid Scoop. However, it is also a heartfelt belief.

Strong journalism and community involvement from the local media make strong communities. Strong communities are the foundation upon which this great nation is built.

We the media don’t seek to exploit violence to make money.

That said we can do more, much more to support children in our communities.
