Christmas was once a joyous time for our industry. Oh, the work was hard. The hours were incredibly long. Sometimes we were so tired we could barely talk, much less think. But it was also a ton of fun.

Today Content That Works announces the Wonder & Joy Project. In partnership with our clients we hope to recapture the wonder and joy of the holiday season by sharing tips, new ideas and best practices. Most local media companies generate more than 20 percent of their total annual ad revenue in the few weeks between Thanksgiving and New Years. Some publishers tell us that the holiday season represents to as much as 40-45 percent of total revenue. That’s a lot of mistletoe.

But lets face it, for many the holiday season has lost its luster. Ad dollars are harder to come by. Retailers say they don’t see the results from us they used to. Things that once brought in holiday dollars by the bag full don’t seem to work the same anymore.

Working with you we want to change that.

The CTW team is well aware Christmas is about a lot more than just making money. Therefore we will go out into the community in the months ahead to personally help feed the homeless. Plus for each holiday sale CTW books between now and Thanksgiving we will donate 50 meals to help feed those in need.
