Brain washing can be good

06 Oct Brain washing can be good

Miles of uninterrupted Lake Michigan beach lay before me on my morning run.

Looking north along the Lake Michigan Beach from Rocky Gap park toward the St. Joseph, MI lighthouse.

Looking north along the Lake Michigan beach from Rocky Gap Park toward the St. Joseph, MI lighthouse.

I looked to the north and then to the south.

Save for footprints in the sand of a man with his dog long departed and a lone fishing boat far on the horizon, amazingly there was no other sign of human activity.

The waves lapped at my feet trying to trap me as I went along. Nothing and nobody else interrupted my thoughts.

In this connected world of always on social media, there’s something to be said for solitude.

It washes one’s brain.
