If you thought the Internet was a big deal, take a look at this infographic sent in by Shannon Hamilton of Internet Service Providers. She says it’s a “fun way to show that most new Internet users will be coming from developing regions of the world, and will be using mobile devices to access the web.”

I’m not sure if it is more fun or more scary, but it certainly highlights some interesting opportunities.

For some local media companies, traffic from the developing world could prove to be a boon – think Jeff Bezos at The Washington Post. Mobile is vital to all – think of Apple, which changed the world with the iPhone in 2007 and has a product introduction next week.
